One Year Ago, Today...

Was the first time I saw him.

The first time I held him.

The first time I kissed him.

The first time I heard him cry.

The first time I got to whisper, "I love you!"
It was love at first sight!
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY, SON!

Sugar Cookies

My personal favorite!

In an attempt NOT to let the television babysit my children, I decided to be adventurous today! It was really pretty fun. And messy!

Addie really had fun, she did really well. She sang me the song she learned in pre-school about orange. She tried to do some of the same things I was doing, and I have to admit, she did pretty good. But then she got a little carried away with the black!
MMMM.....Cookies

Masterpiece!

Leighny lost interest after about 3, but she did a good job! She wanted all of hers to be pink! She licked her knife after just about every stroke, so I couldn't really complain when she wanted to eat it! I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa didn't feel too bad about that either, since we took a plate over to them!

Torn

Tonight I feel a little torn. You mothers will know the feeling. Prt turns one on Thursday! Yeah!!! I am ready to ween him and have my body to myself for a while. Nursing for a whole year is sometimes very challenging. But I have vowed to do it as long as I am able. So as the year is about to be up I can't help but be excited about it. But at the same time, I hate making the change. It seems like torture to the poor little babe who unexpectedly no longer gets his normal source of nutrition and comfort. Plus, he just won't need me as much as he used too. Which is a good thing, but also a hard thing.
I feel bad.
But it's time.

The Vase

The Babe is taking a welding class. Pretty amazing. I know. Uncle Lynn would be proud! Last night he came home with a creation! A gift just for me, created by his own hands! He called me before he got home and said, "I made you a vase. Maybe it can be used as a child beater."
Wow, a vase! I was excited. He came home and placed my vase on the counter.
"There you go," he said.
"What?" I asked.
"It's your vase."
Oops, I didn't recognize it!

Very dainty, don't you think?

No bottom though. No fresh roses in this vase.

Maybe it would make a better child beater! Who knows!

Thanks Babe!

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

WHY???

"'cause Leighna wants me to be a dog!"
Doesn't make sense to me, but apparently that is the reason all the blankets are out of my closet....AGAIN!

And Prt discovered the spice cupboard!

WHY???

Quest for the Perfect Pumpkin

Saturday afternoon we headed out for our favorite pumpkin patch at Staheli Farm! The kids were really excited! Last year was the first year we went to the farm to pick pumpkins and it was so freezing cold. We were about the only people there except one other family! This year was perfect it had to be a balmy 90 degrees at least! In fact on the verge of being a little too hot! But it was fun!

The farm has a lot of really fun activities for everyone to enjoy! The Babe was sharpening his roping skills! He's out of practice, he hasn't roped me for a really long time!

Livi loved the swings!

This is a lot harder than it used to be!!!!
The slide was a little intense! It was a lot faster than you would expect. Not knowing this, Papa sent Prt down by himself! Prt held his breath the entire time and when he got to the bottom, he looked back up at Papa with the expression of 'why would you do that to me???'

The Highlight: The horse swings! The kids LOVE them!

They also have a little petting zoo! Add loved the baby goats. Leighn was afraid of the pig! She made The Babe hold her most of the time!

Trying to be brave!

Our hayride out to the pumpkin patch! The kids had great anticipation!

Picking Pumpkins! I'm pretty sure Prt thought they were balls, and he couldn't figure out why he couldn't pick them up and throw them! He was grunting trying to pick this one up!

Aunt Sil found the perfect pumpkin! It was a really cute one!
Thanks Grandma and Papa for making it all possible! We had a wonderful time!
