Pillow Fort

Leighna is taking her room back! Will adopted Addie's mattress to make a pillow fort. His sign says "Cows only Ty". Because he's wearing a cow costume in there. We haven't had a pillow fort in the house for quite some time. I'm trying to embrace it and soak it in, because the older he gets, the less he will want to build one. The ziplock baggie on the front pillow holds the tooth he pulled out yesterday. He gave up on putting the tooth under his pillow because the Toothfairy in this house is a little lame and forgetful!
Speaking of forgetful...
I'm pretty sure that I have holes in my brain!! For REAL!!!
I'm starting to be very concerned. The other day I went to pick up Ty I had a couple with me who needed a ride to the football game. I pulled in to pick up Ty and I called him to let him know I was there. When I went to hang up the phone, I turned off the car instead. I'm really glad I wasn't still driving!
On the same day, I was driving on a road and the road turned. There is the beginnings of a new road that is maybe 20 yards long going straight off from the corner. Instead of making that turn, I drove straight!!! There was about 2 feet of gravel I just drove over. The Babe was with me and he couldn't believe what I did! I couldn't either! I don't even know what I was thinking. The Babe keeps telling me I'm in peri-menopause, but I'm in denial. I am starting to wonder though because it's really crazy weird!!

Moving Day

It's moving day for Adelah.

Leighna and I loaded her up and drove her up to Snow!

I look rediculous in the picture, but it's the only one we took together.
There's no where I would rather be on this day.
We had lunch at the Malt Shop, which was crazy busy, but I've been craving their mushroom swiss burger and Addie was craving it too.

Add was really stressed so we helped her unpack, took her grocery shopping and got her all settled in before we left.

I love my girls!! I'm so proud of both of them!!!

She's going to have a great year!

It was super hard to leave her this year. She didn't have Cheyla to leave her with and she was not her cheerful self. It made it really hard to drive away.
It's hard to explain, and I don't really think you understand until you live it. I prayed and pleaded every day for 4 years before Adelah was born. I was finally granted to blessing of having a baby and now she's grown. This is what we raised her to do. Go out on her own and create a life she loves! As hard as it is to let her go, it's also a blessing and fun to watch her thrive!

And right behind her is Leighna! She's also all grown up. I'm excited to watch her grow and find some independence! It's a little easier since she gets to come home every night, but still pulls on those heart strings. That just is the progression of life. It sure seems like it came too quickly, but also, it feels like I've had them forever! It's a fun knew stage once I get my head wrapped around it.

There was a fire in Toquerville on our way home. We had to go the long way home!

Tigers vs Dixie

I'm not joking about the sunsets!
It poured and there was a lightning delay for almost an hour. I thought for a minute they would cancel, but the storm passed and it was a beautiful night for football. It actually got a little bit chilly, which felt so nice after such a long hot summer.

Porter's first JV game!  He got a good tackle and he missed a pass that was thrown behind him. It was so fun to watch him play! They played great and came away with a win against Dixie!

Night Driving

The sunset have been incredible lately!

So beautiful!

The bigguns and I started a little tradition when Adelah started driving. They need to have 10 hours of night driving in order to get their driver's license. So after dinner we take a little drive to get Menchie's frozen yogurt. It's Porter's turn to get his night driving in, but it's a little harder trying to work around his football schedule. It's also a little harder in the summer because it doesn't get dark until 10 pm, so we are all exhausted by the time it gets dark. But, we finally made it happen! We changed it up a little and got rolled ice cream tacos! It was fun to try them and they looked so super fabulous. I got a coconut one and it just tasted like vanilla, so next time I'll try a different flavor. We had a great time together! Love this tradition!

Utah Tech Here She Comes

Look at this beautiful sunset! So pretty. I watched the sunset last night and cried to my Heavenly Father. I know He's there and that He loves me. Sometimes things are just hard and there's no way around it. But, you can always find good intertwined in the hard!

Today was Leighna's first day of college!!

She enjoyed her classes and was introduced to the world of a 20 page syllabus! I think she's going to love college. I hope so anyway. I'm a little afraid that she will miss out on the whole experience by living at home, but I hope she will still love it!
This is our last week with Adelah, so we're all trying to soak it all in! It's been cute to watch her and Porter and Leighna play today. They have such a cute relationship. I love it!
I had the house to myself today, for the first time since school started. It was kind of nice to have some time to get things done. I got some laundry done, the living room clean, I even made my bed!! Go me!! And I got to watch whatever I wanted, that never happens. Blue Bloods, in case you're wondering.

The Babe came home and got to work on our kitchen project. It's coming along and almost done! I'm loving it so much!!!

One more small wall to do and the window seal. It's looking so good! I definitely need to scrub my cabinets though!

Will's Prayer

 Today was Stake Conference.

Will was asked a couple week ago if he would give the opening prayer. He said he would and said, I don't get stage fright, so it's fine. While we were sitting on the stand, he was holding my arm pretty tight. I asked if he was nervous and he said no. He gave a simple cute prayer! He asked for a blessing on the speakers to be able to tell us everything we need to know today, he asked for a blessing on the missionaries, and he asked that we would all be able to be good. It was so adorable. I'm so proud of him! I had to pray in Stake Conference a year or so ago and I was scared to death! When we were walking down of the stand, he said, "I did it!" It was pretty awesome!

I got a new calling. If you can believe it, I've been called to be the Relief Society 1st counselor. I have very mixed emotions about that. I love the sisters so much and I'm happy to serve them. But I also know what I'm in for. It's a huge time commitment. It's a huge emotional commitment. I don't want to step on the president's toes. I'm hoping it will be easier to be in a supporting role than the leader. We will see how it all plays out.

What We Are Up To

Friday night, the first varsity game of the season. Porter got to dress for Varsity! #34. He was excited, I  think The Babe was even more excited! He didn't get to play, but he was glad to be part of the team. Next week the JV will be playing and I'm sure he'll get some playing time in that game. We're excited to watch him play.

We started a little home improvement project. We've been planning on doing this for a couple years, but we finally bit the bullet! I'm exctied to have it done.

It's looking good so far, and I can't wait to show you the finished project!!!

It also poured today for about an hour. It was really coming down!

This is the parking lot at the high school!!!

First Day of School

Ty, 7th Grade!

Porter, Sophomore!

Will, 3rd Grade!

The girls don't have school yet and they both had the day off, which is a rare occasion, so they took on a home improvement project!

Addie had fun painting Leighna!

Summer is almost over and they will go to their own separate colleges. I love when they have these moments together!
