My Bucket List

I don't know if I really have an official "bucket list", but for as long as I can remember my sister Heidi and I have always wanted to ride in a convertible. We used to lay awake at night planning our great adventures in a fancy, sleek car. But no matter what kind it had to be a convertible, so we could let our hair down and have it blow in the wind.
Well, today I got to check that off my list. Actually I don't think I will check it off, it was way too much fun. But I will definitely put a star by it and hope that I will get to do it again. And hopefully one day I'll get to do it with Heidi.
So let me just tell you...it was MAGICAL!!!
The Babe works with a guy who owns a 1967 Corvette Sting Ray and its a CONVERTIBLE!!! So The Wonderful Babe worked out a little date this morning and he took me for a ride!
OH YEAH!!!
As the car was being prepped, I just kinda stood there a little in awe. I am not the type of girl who belongs in that kind of car. Besides that I had just returned home from my morning walk, and I didn't have time to shower or change or anything. So I looked like I had been walking, sweaty and not cute. Not the kind of girl that should be in that kind of car. But I got in anyway! The owners of the car opened the doors for us and put down the top, then they told us to hop in and have a good ride! He even said not to hurry back, which was so awesome. Unfortunately it was early day at school so we had to be home in time to pick up the kids.
So The Babe and I took off in this fancy little car, and I felt cool. People everywhere were staring at us! Oh how I wished I was looking cute instead of all sweaty and yucky, but I was riding in a convertible and a fancy classic one at that! It was so sweet. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining with a few clouds in the sky. We drove around the lake, which was beautiful. The top was down and I leaned my head back and enjoyed the ride. I even let my hair down and shook it out so the wind could blow through it.
It kind of seems silly that it gave me such a thrill, but it did. It something I have always wanted to do and I was finally doing it. It made me feel young and beautiful and alive! As we were nearing the end of our journey. I was thinking about how much I love The Babe. How much it means to me that he takes the time to find little things like riding in a fancy car to make me smile, and about how much he means to me. I leaned my head back again and looked up at the sky and there in the clouds was the shape of a heart! It was really kind of cool. I pointed it out to The Babe and he said, "that's to remind us how much we love each other." And it's true. Sometimes we just need those little moments to remember how much we really love each other! It was an incredible day. All day I have just had the greatest feeling of excitement! It was truly so much fun. I am so glad I got to share that moment with My Babe.
Someday, maybe I can share it with my sister too, but it won't be the same. ;-)

I decided I can't buy me a convertible because there just aren't enough seats in the back for my children, so what fun would that truly be. Maybe when they grow up. ;-)

Leighna Bug's First day of School

It's been a while since Leighna headed off to school, but it's only fair that she gets a first day of school post too.
She is loving school. The only problem is, she has to wait so long before she gets to go. Most days she is up and ready by 8:30 or so and she has to wait until the afternoon to go. A few days ago about nine fifteen she said, "Mom, how many more seconds before I can go to school?" I just can't believe she's this big already!

Poyer misses his gewls while they are at school. but he manages! At least he has Kronk.
