The Bestest of Friends

 

These three goofballs! They keep us laughing! I love their bond! It grows every day! 

 

The girls take it upon themselves to keep Porters back acne under control. It's gross and disturbing, but very entertaining! It's like a train wreck and I can't look away!

New College Student!

 

It's official! I have a Utah Tech student! 

(Dixie, for all you old timers)

Today was orientation. We spent the day together-not-together. As soon as we checked in they wisked the students off in one direction and the parents in the other. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to be with Leighna as she explored the campus, but it didn't work out that way. 

I had a lot of time to sit and think about all of this. It's hard to wrap my head around another chickie leaving the nest! Although, Leighna will be living at home, it will still be different. I think she will need to spend a lot of extra time on campus so she can get to know people. 

She's excited and nervous all at the same time. 
Jack started his mission this past Monday, so it's been a rough week for her. It will be good for her for her own adventure to begin. It's really hard to set her free. I rely and Leighna a lot! I'm not sure how I'm going to do this without her. It was hard to let Addie go to, so I guess I'll survive it, but some days it doesn't feel like it.

It feels like an end, but I know it's just another beginning. 

I love you Leighna! You are so helpful and bring a special spirit into our lives! I can't wait to see what you do next!

Lake Day

The Babe went on a trip to Montana with his family. They got to visit Glacier National Park and visit Uncle Dave and his family. 

 

We finally found a day to go out on the lake with the Wolslegers! It was a big day for Will and Ty! Will went surfing with Zack and he loved it!! 

 

Ty learned how to knee board and he loved that!! 

We haven't been able to convince them to try, they have been to scared to try, but we finally got them in and they loved it! It was a fun day at the lake!

 

Izzy loves me! She had to have a picture with me! 

 

Ty made it around the whole lake 2 times! He did so awesome! 

Leighna and Adelah both had to work, and Porter was camping with some friends, so it was just me and the little boys! (Who aren't so little anymore!)

 

Another Day

Aunt Jan came down for a visit. We went to the city pool to watch Bella and Bianca compete in a swim meet. They did a great job. They are both really good swimmers. 

 

It was so hot we nearly melted, so we didn't stay for the whole thing. Later we went school shopping at Ross. 

 

Ty's feeling pretty drip in his new outfit! He can't wait for school to start! 

Ute Stampede

 

It's always cool to watch the sunset during the stampede. It's one of my favorite sights! 

 

I don't think Uncle Jon knows how much he is looked up too and adored! We all want his approval and attention. The kids adore him! It's so fun to watch!

Burrastons Ponds

 

We went home for the stampede this year. We weren't going to go this year since my parents are on a mission and the situation with my family is still really hard. When it came down to it, my kids didn't want to miss it. So we packed up and went to one of our favorite summer events! My mom and dad were able to make it work out to have their P-day Thursday night to Friday night, so it worked out perfectly! It was so hot and the air conditioner wasn't working so we went swimming at Burrastons. It was super fun! The kids loved it!!

Jack got to come along for his first stampede. Not sure he loved it, but he did love the motorcycles at the end, so that's good! He starts his mission soon, so these two are squeezing in as much as they can!

They found a log out in the middle of the pond, so they swam out to it and had a good time trying to sit on it!
