I didn't officially have the Ute Stampede on my HAGS list because it's already such an Allred Family staple. We don't really have to "schedule" it in, it's a given. For the rest of our lives the 2nd week of July is spoken for! It's when us city folk can pretend that we're real cowboys....for 1 whole week! actually it's only about 1/2 week. But that doesn't sound as good.
It's not summer without the Ute Stampede and so it goes on the HAGS list!
The kids get so excited, they bust out their cowboy hats and cowboy boots and their plaid shirts...apparently Prt only has a white Sunday shirt and only a button-up shirt is acceptable for the Stampede. I love it...it does my heart some good. Although, I, myself do not get all cowboy-ed up.
Willip made friends with Grandma's chicken.
We get real serious about being cowboys when we go help out with the Mules on Grandpa's farm. Swimming shorts and cowboy hats...cause you never know when you might suddenly decide to go for a swim.
Add believes that she is the horse whisperer. And that's good. I'm glad she has a love! She would spend all day with them if she could.
Willip was super brave...braver than I thought he would be...braver than I wanted him to be.
My Bugga. I think she's more like me. She loves the idea of horses, but not so much the getting her hands dirty! (that's me)
This kid just loves the dirt. Anytime he can be outside in the dirt, he's in heaven!
And here you have it...the whole kit and caboodle...
I love this kid!
I love them all! They just make my heart sing! Prt is sporting the "maybe I'll play basketball in my cowboy boots" look. We're definitely cowboy posers.
But look at those muscles! We might do ok on a farm for a couple days. :-)
The horse whisperer in action.
watching the action.
being the action.
Maybe I should tell them that it's not very cool to wear boots and shorts together....NA! It's too cute!

We love to get together and play softball. This year Dad's crew at work challenged us to tournament! It was super fun. I think it will be our new tradition! You know how I feel about traditions! I love them.
And then there's the swimming in the water trough....anything to keep us cool on these hot summer days!
And parades....3 days full of parades! This year there was a tragic accent at one of the parades and it was heartbreaking. Our thoughts go out to the family of the young lady who so tragically passed away.
