HAGS #11 Cherry Smoothies

This summer we picked cherries....lots and lots of cherries. We ate a ton of them and I froze the rest of them. When we were driving home, I asked the kids if they could think of some fun yummy things we could do with the cherries. I got answers like, eat them, fruit leather them, freeze them, dry them.

I told them that I definitely had to have a cherry smoothie. To which Prt exclaimed, "OH YA!!! That's going on the HAGS List!

And so there you have it, our cherry smoothies went on the HAGS list at #11.

They were delicious. Truth be told it's more like a cherry milkshake....but oh, they were good!

It made for quite a fun evening at home.

The Ute Stampede! HAGS #10

I didn't officially have the Ute Stampede on my HAGS list because it's already such an Allred Family staple. We don't really have to "schedule" it in, it's a given. For the rest of our lives the 2nd week of July is spoken for! It's when us city folk can pretend that we're real cowboys....for 1 whole week! actually it's only about 1/2 week. But that doesn't sound as good.
It's not summer without the Ute Stampede and so it goes on the HAGS list!
The kids get so excited,  they bust out their cowboy hats and cowboy boots and their plaid shirts...apparently Prt only has a white Sunday shirt and only a button-up shirt is acceptable for the Stampede. I love it...it does my heart some good. Although, I, myself do not get all cowboy-ed up.

Willip made friends with Grandma's chicken.

We get real serious about being cowboys when we go help out with the Mules on Grandpa's farm. Swimming shorts and cowboy hats...cause you never know when you might suddenly decide to go for a swim.

Add believes that she is the horse whisperer. And that's good. I'm glad she has a love! She would spend all day with them if she could.

Willip was super brave...braver than I thought he would be...braver than I wanted him to be.

My Bugga. I think she's more like me. She loves the idea of horses, but not so much the getting her hands dirty! (that's me)

This kid just loves the dirt. Anytime he can be outside in the dirt, he's in heaven!

And here you have it...the whole kit and caboodle...

I love this kid!

I love them all! They just make my heart sing! Prt is sporting the "maybe I'll play basketball in my cowboy boots" look. We're definitely cowboy posers.

But look at those muscles! We might do ok on a farm for a couple days. :-)

The horse whisperer in action.

watching the action.

being the action.

Maybe I should tell them that it's not very cool to wear boots and shorts together....NA! It's too cute!

Watermelon = summer. Summer = watermelon.

We love to get together and play softball. This year Dad's crew at work challenged us to tournament! It was super fun. I think it will be our new tradition! You know how I feel about traditions! I love them.

And then there's the swimming in the water trough....anything to keep us cool on these hot summer days!

And parades....3 days full of parades! This year there was a tragic accent at one of the parades and it was heartbreaking. Our thoughts go out to the family of the young lady who so tragically passed away.

HAGS #9...Veyo Pool

Grab a picnic and some friends and lets go play! The fun thing about my HAGS list this summer was not only that I got my family out of  the house and going on some fun adventures, but I had a lot of friends who wanted to be included on these fun adventures, and they included me on theirs. I didn't even know that Veyo Pool was a thing (or a place) of interest. But this place is so super cool!
We packed a nice lunch because the plan was to stay most of the day. Which we did!

This pool is so cool because it is water from a natural spring. So it's not chlorinated at all...which is so nice to swim in fresh cool, clear water.

Puppy loves to swim...but he hates to get his face wet. My friend Lisa teaches swimming lessons, so she spent a little time with Puppy trying to get him to relax about getting his face wet. He didn't love it. He didn't even like it. But he tolerated it a little. He still doesn't like it.

Hailey, Drew, Tylee, Leighna
The Pineapple crew...I don't know how they came up with the name, but that's what they call themselves. They sure have a fun time together.

I think Prt spent most of his time in the creek catching crawdads. Oh, so there is the pool on one side, surrounded by these beautiful mountains...maybe hills, I don't know what to call them. But on the other side of the deck, there is a beautiful creek. Full of crawdads. Most of the boys spent a lot of time over there catching the ugly little critters.

Oh, see. Beautiful setting for a pool. It was seriously so nice and relaxing. Most of the day we had the pool to ourselves.

Puppy's reward for getting his face wet!

Josh, Caleb, Porter, Benson, ?, Emily, Liv, Leighna, Davis, Drew, Will

This is not even all of them...everyonce in awhile while the boys weren't looking, Lisa would throw them all back.

Don't mind our bad Selfie skills. Me and Teresa

This beautiful river full of creatures is right by the balcony for the pool.

Lisa and me.
Amy, Jodi, and Danielle were all there too, but they left before I pulled out the camera. :( Next time I will capture them.
