My Canning Club

(Trina, Barbara, Melody, Jean)
The ladies in my ward have started a canning group, and I'm in charge of it. I don't know how I ended up being the leader, but I have SO much fun with these ladies!! They keep me laughing. It's a lot more fun to bottle when you have good company to do it with! We made Cherry Almond Jam, it's my favorite jam! We made 53 jars!

Heber Girls Camp Mission

Jonathan, Wyatt, Kelton, Ty, Kade, Trina, Mom, Heidi

You may know that my parents are currently serving at the Heber Girls Camp Mission!
Before all the girls started arriving, they had an open house and their families were invited to come and check it all out. Heidi, Jonathan, and I were the only ones who could make it. It was raining and snowing and a whole lot colder then the balmy 85 degrees that I left in Hurricance, but that didn't stop us! We bundled up and headed up the mountain! Will stayed behind at Aunt Ruth's because he doesn't do well in the cold. Ty was the only other one with me because my other kids all had to work. Jason came with Heidi, but also stayed at Aunt Ruth's with their littles because it was cold and snowy up there. I hind sight, I wish I would have taken Will, I think he would have been okay, but you never really know with him. It was fun to see my parents and tour all of the camp ground to see what they are up to!

They had a display with lots of different things but these quote all stood out to me. Heidi read all the signs and then was convinced that we were doing all of the challenges no matter what!

This was the first challenge. That log is not in the ground, it's hanging from a cable, so it swings as you try to climb it.

This is Kade, he's rocking it!

I was faking that face for this picture, but that is my true face when it was my turn! When I have any intense emotion, I cry! Yep, I was crying when I stepped up for my turn. The missionaries helping us were so kind! I didn't make it very far up because the pegs were really far apart and I couldn't pull my body weight with just my arms. I also couldn't hold on very well because my hands were frozen. I didn't make it very far. It was embarrassing. I was mad at myself for being so out of shape. I was mad that I am so short. I was mad that I couldn't do it. And a little part of me was glad that I didn't have to walk that wire clear up in the air! I'm afraid of heights, so it was really out of my comfort zone.

That climb was really hard. I didn't even get to see the view. But, I'm proud of myself for trying. I wasn't even going to try at first!

Ty bowed out of the first challenge. Kade made him promise he would only have one pass. So the next challege, he suited up and was ready for the climb!

I didn't even attemp this one. 40 feet off the ground and a bajillion different challenges! I'm actually super impressed Ty was even willing to give a shot. He's not my adventurer. He did so awesome!!

It was snowing when we got to this challenge. It was cold!

Seriously, so proud of Ty for doing this one!

Heidi was also champ! She got up there and got all tangled up in a maze but she did awesome too! She said her hands were so frozen it was hard to hold on.

Even though it was cold, we still took a little ride on the boats. The boys took the paddle boats.

The big kids took the pontoon boat!
I had the best time with Heidi and Jonathan!! It's not very often that the 3 oldest in the family get to spend some time together! It was really good for my heart! It was fun. It was special.
Later that night, Jon taught Heidi and me how to gamble! I won! It was dumb luck, but I won!

Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt!

 So beautiful!

Beautiful sunset! Jon calls it God's country and it's easy to see why. But don't tell him I said that!

Kelton had joined The-Taller-Than-Aunt-Trina-Club!

So fun to spend time with my nieces and nephews! You know I love being an Aunt!!!

Kade has also joined The-Taller-Than-Aunt-Trina-Club!
Just barely, but he will only go up from here!

Welcome to the team boys!!!

Grad Night

The Babe and I decided to brave an all-nighter! At our age that's no small feat!
But we did it!! And it was really fun!
(that was a whole lot of bad grammar, right there, sorry for all you English majors)

Graduation Day!

I just don't know how to put my feelings into words.
Sometimes there are no words. Just the feelings that I hold close to my heart.

Love Love Love

I'm not crying. You're crying!

One of the hardest things about having one of your kids graduate is that their friends who have spent a lot of time in my home also grow up and go on their way. I love these kids, they are going to do great things! I'm excited to see where life takes them. However, I will miss them!
