Sisters

I spent the weekend with my sisters and my dad. We had such a great time. It's always fun to spend time with family. It was weird not having my mom here though. That doesn't happen very often. The best part was that I wasn't the one driving! That made me happy. We have a lot of fun together. Heidi just moved into a new apartment. I hear it's a lot nicer than the old one.
For Christmas my dad asked for good girls....so we took these pictures and made a 'Daddy's little Girls' sign and gave him what he asked for....

His good little girls, to hang on the wall!

Porter's First Haircut

I was afraid to do it.....

I hesitated for a few moments.....

But once I started there was no going back!

Some of you may know how I feel about totally bald men....
Porter is the most handsome I have ever seen! I think I might have to keep his head shaved all the time because it's so darn cute!

(Maybe I should try it on The Babe!)

Today's Day So Far

My kids love swimming. Since it's too cold to swim outside, they have moved their swimming rendezvous to the bath tub. This is more like skinny dipping though.

after the "swim" I gave Buggie a hair cut. As I was cutting her hair she told me she wanted me to make her look like Pocahontas. I'm not sure I succeeded. I told her I didn't think I could do that, so she settled for Mulan. As I was cutting and combing and curling she asked, "am I sute yet?" and when she finally got to look in the mirror when she was all finished she exclaimed, "I do look like Mulan!" I guess I'm better than I thought!
Mulan
Addie informed me that she wants Santa to bring her her very own ipod for Christmas next year.....SHE'S FIVE PEOPLE! FIVE!

And here is my next hair cutting victim....He was sick last night so I feel sorry for the little puke. But he did puke in MY bed so I kind of feel sorry for myself too.

Kids and Scruffy

I LOVE this kid....

And when she walked out of her room this morning wearing this....

I just had to smile! A great big happy smile, because it's just so darn cute!

Actually I just love all my kids to death. I don't know what I would do without them. They are the joy of my existance. Last weekend we made yet another trip up to Nephi. My cousin got married. It was a joyous occasion and I was so happy to be there. Before the wedding we went to Grandma Baker's of course. My Aunt Diann from Idaho was there taking care of my poor invalid parents. With Aunt Diann of course, was Scruffy. My Grandma Baker's dog. I had to choke back a few sobs and put my tears in check a couple times, because I just wasn't quite prepared for the emotion seeing Scruffy brought to the surface. I didn't realize how much I missed that dog. But when Addie wrapped her arms around his neck and just sat there holding him, I almost couldn't take it. It was so sweet. She said he was cold and she was warm, so she needed to warm him up. Later she said to me, "I thought Scruffy died with Grandma Baker." I'm so glad he didn't. I felt like a little bit of Grandma was still around. Something that would never change. Scruffy, thank you. Thank you for letting me and my children love you as much as Grandma did.

P.S. I LOVE this kid too...

And this kid....

and we're thinking about getting a dog.

Gold Fish?....Anyone?

Just in case you're wondering....
For pre-school snack on Thursday I decided on the never failing Gold Fish and sliced apples. I was feeling pretty good about myself, too. Gold fish, something children can't resist, and I knew they would eat the apples because that's what they all ate instead of my celery last time. So I was really thinking it was an easy cheesy no brainer....
Until Addie informed me that on Tuesday they had Gold Fish and sliced apples for snack!
I can't win.
I give up on you, Pre-School Snack.

forever blowing bubbles

While I was putting on my make-up, Adelah came running into the bathroom and started tapping my shoulder, trying to get my attention. I asked her what she wanted, and she just kept tapping me. Finally I turned to see what she wanted. She had blown her first bubble with bubble gum! She was so excited and the the huge smile under that big wad of gum was so cute! She started jumping up and down! She said Grandma taught her in Nephi. So good job Grandma Baker, you taught your granddaughter to blow bubbles with her gum!

Pre School Snack

I just found out I have to do the snack again for Adelah's preschool class on Thursday. This brings me much anxiety. Why? you may ask. Well, because last time I decided to make one of my favorites, celery stuffed with cheese and mayo. Surprisingly, no one would eat it except Addie, Dane, and Miss Toni. Miss Toni never said a word about it, but Addie did. So now I'm afraid of how to please those little pip-sqeeks. Any good suggestions?
