My Baby Girl is 18!

I'm sorry to report I'm having technical difficulties over here. My computer is no longer working. My Instagram and Facebook have not allowed me to post new pictures (I do think that I have that figured out). I swiped Addie's computer to write this blog, but I don't have access to any pictures from her computer. So sad. But I can't let another day pass without writing about Addie's birthday or it will be old news...

INSERT CUTE PICTURE of ADDIE HERE...(use your imagination!)

Little Addie Mae turned 18! I cannot believe that this day has come so soon! She is such a sweet and kind soul. She has truly blessed my life for the past 18 years! I have so much to say, and yet, I can't find the words.
When Addie was born, I didn't want anyone to be there, except the Babe and me because I selfishly wanted to have her all to ourselves for a few minutes as we began our family. The night before she was born, I panicked and called my mom. I didn't know anything about having a baby and I didn't want to do it without my mom. When Adelah finally arrived, it was by c-section. I gave her a kiss on the cheek, and she was whisked off to be cleaned up by the nurses while I was stitched back together and whisked off in the other direction to the recovery room. I was there alone. For what felt like forever. I just wanted to hold my new baby. I wanted it to just be the 3 of us for just a minute, but instead I was the last one to hold my precious girl. By the time I was taken to my room, all of our family left as I got there because it was getting late, and they wanted me to be able to rest. Then we had our moment that changed my heart forever! I learned in those moments what it meant to truly love.
To truly love unconditionally.

So many times through the years The Babe has been counting the days for when our children turn 18. He couldn't wait for them to grow up and move out on their own. On Adelah's birthday, he said with tears in his eyes, "this doesn't feel the way I thought it would..."

It has been a pleasure being your mother, Adelah! And that will never change! I love you forever, with my whole heart!

Uncle Cam!

I'm a new Aunt!! Camron and Sarah Dawn have a new little one. This is number 5. He was 5lbs 6oz. His name is Kasen Daniel.

My brother sent me this picture yesterday with this caption
"Look at my little man"
Melted my little heart.
You know, life is funny sometimes. When I was a kid, I didn't like Camron very much. We were always fighting, or he was fighting with my other siblings, and he was a hot head! He always seemed to be angry. One day one of my young women leaders dropped me off at home from an activity and she said to me, "You look so much like your brother Camron, you're a lot like him." I was so mad at her because of all my siblings I did not want to be like Cam! He's the only person I have branded with an iron and punched in the nose! When we got a little older, I remember walking to the store one day with Cam, and we were talking about what life would be like when we were grown up and had children of our own. We talked about how funny it would be to be Aunt Trina and Uncle Cam! It feels so strange sometimes to be living that reality.  Uncle Cam razzes the heck out of my kids, and they love it, maybe love is strong word, but I think they appreciate the attention. I have heard my girls more than once say to their friends, "your uncles don't do that???" They are always ready for a fight when Uncle Cam is coming, but they know it is all in good fun! Now, I am honored to be Aunt Trina and I'm grateful that he is Uncle Cam!
Can't wait to meet little Kasen!!!

Tassel Time

My baby got her tassel!! Such an exciting day! I remember when I got my tassel, I felt like the queen of the world! It's a big accomplishment and I'm super excited for Add!

Addie has a free period every day and when her friends are busy, I am the lucky recipient of her extra time! We had a great lunch date. I am soaking up all of these little moments. I know they will be gone so quickly. I'm super grateful for Adelah!

Game Day

The night before game day!!
TyTy likes to be prepared! He LOVES football! I think he lives for this game. He is playing the running back position this year, so he gets to run the ball a lot. He's doing a pretty darn good job for a little guy! The other teams seem so massive compared to him, but he's pretty fast, and he manages to pick up a few yards! He plays hard. His team lost. He and most of the other members of his team are all first timers, but they are learning, and they improved a lot from last week! I'm excited to see their last game compared to their first game. They will look like a whole different team by the end, they are learning so much!

The Wolf Pack

The Wolf Pack!
I know I've told you about Porter's friends, but I think it's just so great how supportive they are to each other. 6 of them are on the football team, so the rest of them came to watch the game and cheered them on! They are really the best group of kids! I'm grateful that Porter gets to be part of something so special. Especially through his middle school years. They lost the game 6 to 7 but they played hard. It's exciting to watch them play at this age. I'm so surprised how much they have improved and grown since last year!

'Tis The Season

Will had his first flag football game tonight. He made a touchdown! His team won and he was so excited! Porter's team won their first game on Saturday, Ty's team lost theirs. Football, football, football.

Puppy is growing. 2 weeks old. He still doesn't have his eyes open, and he sleeps most of the time.

He's living his best life!

A couple times a week I play pickleball with my sister and some of her friends. I love it! I love it way more than I thought I would. We try not to miss.

This night we played in the rain. It was fun and challenging.

Visited the Davis's up in Rockville. The boys had a great time riding go-carts and playing in the river. It's so beautiful up there.

Davin's Home! He is our neighbor and friend. He worked with The Babe at Gunlock for a couple years and they became really close. Diane (Davin's mom) asked Will if he even remembered Davin. I don't know if he remembers or not, but he has been praying for him for a long time!

Meet Frank...Leighna brought him home. I think Jack is jealous, Leighna and Frank have become quite close! :-) It's starting to feel like fall, and we are loving it! Last night we had the most crazy thunderstorm. The lightning and thunder were right on top of us. The thunder was shaking my house. And it poured!!! Sounded like a hurricane outside, but it was so great! I love thunderstorms. Leighna didn't hear a thing! I don't know how she didn't hear it. It was so loud! Will and Ty ended up in my bed, but not as soon as I thought they would.

One Lucky Kid!

This past weekend was peach days! We love peach days. It's our town celebration and fair. I was terrible at taking pictures this time. We spent a lot of time with family and visited with all the people in town that we know and love! I have to say, there were a lot of people I didn't know this year. I love our community. I completely spaced the parade! Forgot all about it, I got a text from Marie and phone call from Mom almost at the same time, asking where I was! I missed a good chunk, but it was a pretty lengthy parade, it went on for more than an hour, so I didn't miss too much. We wandered the booths and tried to find yummy food. The Navajo tacos (a Hurricane tradition) were 12 dollars apiece! Luckily Grandma saved the day and made Navajo tacos for dinner, so we all got our fill.
The pediatric dentist office in town had a wheel the kids could spin, they could pick a prize (a toothbrush), or they could enter their name into the drawing, depending on what the spinner landed on. Ty won a toothbrush. Will won the chance to put his name in the drawing for a hoverboard. The ladies working there said that he could just pick the prize instead if he wanted. Will's response, "NO WAY! I'm going to win the hoverboard!" We entered his name, and he walked away saying, "I'm going to win a hoverboard!" The Babe and I were skeptical. So, when the call came in today that Will was the winner of the hoverboard, I just about fell off my chair! Either this is one lucky kid, or he has a very powerful gift of manifesting! All the way to the dentist office he kept saying, "I'm so lucky!" And he certainly is one lucky kid!!

Aunt Jan is the puppy whisperer! She had the puppy and Daisy all cuddled up nice and cozy! It has been fun to have her around this week!

P.S. My parents have been invited to go to Israel!!! Can you believe that! What an amazing opportunity! My dad said they were thinking about it...I told him to stop thinking and just say YES! How cool would that be? I hope they go, but I'm pretty sure it's a no brainer, I'm sure they will take this opportunity! So excited for them!!!

Puppy Love

My favorite pictures of the day. I had to post them all because their faces are just so priceless!

Addie brought her friends home for lunch today. They are all friends from orchestra. It was really fun to have them. They played the piano and the ukulele the whole time they were here, it was fun to have my home filled with music and teenagers! I love it. It's been pretty quiet during the day, so it was nice to have a little livelihood.
Davin Hansgen got home from his mission today. I haven't seen him yet, but The Babe went to the airport with his family. That 2 years went by really fast for me.
Peach days starts today. It's so hot, it's hard to go out and participate. It should be a great weekend though. The Babe has to work, of course, which is a bummer.
