Yesterday I went out to my lovely peach tree to pick a few peaches for breakfast. I reached up into the tree and picked a beautiful peach and then I got attacked by this...

Ok, maybe not attacked, but I got buzzed by this huge thing. I started flailing my arms and running. I'm sure it was quite a sight. I wasn't even sure if this was the culprit, but I was pretty sure.

Then later in the evening I asked The Babe to go pick me some peaches because I got attacked by this thing, I don't even know what it is. I thought I was over reacting but The Babe came back in the house and said that he was attacked by this thing too. Ok, attacked probably isn't the right word, it just buzzed around our heads for a minute, but it didn't hurt us. Anyway, my point is, this critter is hording my peaches. I'm afraid to even go out there. Luckily, The Babe is a lot braver than me and he picked the last of them. Which means I have to do peaches today, if only Ty will let me put him down long enough to get to the peaches. *sigh*

Just in case you haven't heard, there's a new sheriff in town! He means business too, in his cowboy hat and moon boots. You better watch yourselves!

The girls got new swimming suits because really this is the time to buy them. Only $5.99 and that's a steal for a swimming suit these days! They were having tons of fun posing and taking pictures!

And Ty....well he's doing great! Gettin' chubby, which I love! And he's starting to coo and laugh. It's so adorable!

So there you have it. That's what we're up to.

Mysterious Friend

Porter has been begging and begging for me to call his friend, Jankston to come and play. For the life of me, I have no idea who Jankston is. I keep asking him who is that? And all he can tell me is, "Him's my fwiend." I finally just got more information... "Him's mom's name is George and her doesn't have wheels, her has wegs!" Wow. Now I know who Jankston is!?!?!?

Sometimes life is hard. It seems like you're barely getting by somehow and then suddenly life gets harder. Life hands you something like this...

Which is exactly what it looks like...Leighna's bum print on my neighbors windshield. Bummer. Really! Luckily she wasn't hurt if we are looking at the bright side of things. Which I am trying really really hard to do.

I have a burnin' desire to blog, but can't really think of a single thing to say. I figured if I just sat down and started typing maybe it would form into something fabulous. I'm not so sure about that though.
I got up early this morning, well, lets be honest it felt early to me, but 8:30 probably isn't exactly early in most people's world. It is for a nursing mom though. Anyway, I got up so I could take my kids to the kids movie. Our little theater has free kids movies during the summer. They just show movies that have already come out on DVDs, but the kids love it just the same. It gives them a chance to see a movie at the theater and it gives me a chance to be a cool mom and buy them popcorn because I haven't already spent a fortune on movie tickets. No popcorn today though, :-( payday isn't until Friday! Anyway, it was fun. We watched Puss-in-Boots. My kids loved it!
So, As I was backing out of my driveway to go the movie, I backed into Sarah's car. I knew it was there and I even told myself to watch it while I was backing up, but then I forgot something and ran back in the house for a second. When I came back out I just jumped in and started going and I looked over one shoulder but not the other and Ka-Boom! I smacked right into her rear end! Luckily I've learned on my street to go very slow, it just scratched the paint a little bit. Could have been so much worse! Whew!
Ty had to go to the doctor today. He weighed in at a whopping 13.5 lbs. He is now 23 inches long. Everything is going well. He's growing and looking healthy! He had to get his first shots today. Poor boy is going to be a little cranky for a few days. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I feel sorry for the little guy.
well time is up. Duty calls. ta ta for now.

Ty's Baby Blessing

Ty was given his name and a blessing on Sunday. It was a beautiful day. I think one of the most amazing feelings of joy is to watch my husband and all the most important men in my life, stand shoulder to shoulder in the power of the Priesthood to bless my children. It is so amazing to watch how the gospel can light up a person's life. A couple of the men in the circle were fairly recent converts or recently re-activated and my heart was full of gratitude that they were there. I am so blessed to have another miracle in my life!

This little miracle was not very happy when I was trying to take his picture. I got one good one, (see above) and the rest looked like this. He was not a happy camper....

Until I took all of his clothes off! Then he was perfectly content and quite cheerful, actually! I guess when the weather is as hot as it is, we all wish we could take off a few layers. :-)

Later in the afternoon, Leighna got in trouble with her dad. She had to go to her room for awhile. While she was in there, she sent Porter out with this message for dad....

Translation:
to Dad
Dad you always
be mean to me
I don't like how
my feelings are
Love Leighna

Being the mean parents that we are, we laughed. I thought it was pretty cute. The first thing I thought when I saw Porter carrying that board was, "don't shoot the messenger." My children crack me up! They are the best thing that ever happened to me....next to The Babe!  I love my little family.
Thank you to all of the family and friends who came to support us on Ty's special day. And to those who couldn't make it, We love you too, sorry we missed you!

Tonight The Babe and I celebrated our 12th anniversary. It is actually tomorrow, but we will have lots of company so we decided to celebrate early. The Babe took me to a romantic dinner at Red Lobster. mmmmm. I decided to splurge since it was a special occation and I ordered the Ultimate Feast! And boy was it a feast! Shrimp, coconut shrimp, lobster, and I even went out on a limb and tried crab legs for the very first time! They were tasty. We enjoyed our evening out.

I love My Babe. We have had so many good times together. Some tough times, but they brought us closer together. I couldn't have asked for a better man to protect, provide, and preside over our family! He is an amazing man. He works so hard for our family. I appreciate all the long hours he spends working hard to provide a good life for us. I love him for his ability to forgive others, especially me. I love him for his hard work. I love him for his helping hand in our house hold. I love him for being a great dad. For taking time to play with our children and to teach them the gospel and about life. I love him for his cheerful disposition. I love him for his sense of humor, (when he keeps it clean, of course). I love him for honoring his Priesthood. I love him for making me happy. I love him for being friends with my siblings and counseling with them. I love him for talking me back from the edge when I think I'm going to lose it. I love him for magnifying his calling. I love him for all that he is and for all that he will be. I love him for loving me! He is my dragon slayer. He is my best friend. He is the love of my life! I love him and always will! I love you Babe. Thanks for being mine. The past twelve years have been wonderful and I look forward to the rest of our lives together!

I Can Hold it for You

I was standing at the kitchen sink, draining a can of pineapple, when suddenly I had to go to the bathroom. Leighna was standing next to me, so I told her of my predicament. She just wanted to be helpful, and seeing that my hands were full, she decided she could help. She reached out and put her hands between my legs and said, "I can hold it for you, Mom." I jumped back and exclaimed, "Leighna, you shouldn't do that." She replied, "Well, that's what I do when I need to go to the bathroom." She made me laugh so hard, I'm lucky I made it to the bathroom!
